Yes, gently remove as much of the rockwool or growing medium from the roots as you can under lukewarm water before planting. A little bit of leftover rockwool won't cause harm, but it's tidier to get most of it off.

They can be, but unlike invitro plants they're not grown in sterile culture, so there's a small chance of snail eggs or algae hitching a ride. A good rinse and a quick check over the leaves before adding them is worth doing if you keep shrimp.

Some can. Epiphytes like Anubias and Java Fern do best tied or glued to hardscape rather than buried. Rooting plants need to go into substrate to grow properly.

Not always. Many of the species we stock will grow without either, though good lighting and some root or liquid fertiliser will help them establish faster and look their best.
