Aquascaping Workshops

Our aquascaping workshops bring the Byrkley Aquatics store to life with live demonstrations, talks and honest advice from people who work with plants and tanks every day. Held right here in Rangemore, near Burton upon Trent, they're for anyone who wants to get better at planted tanks, whether you're just starting out or already deep into the hobby.

A large rectangular aquarium on a wooden cabinet base, filled with green aquatic plants and driftwood, under a black hanging LED light in what appears to be a store or room setting.

What to expect

Workshops are relaxed group sessions with other like-minded fishkeepers, mixing complete beginners with people who've been scaping for years. There's always something to pick up from someone a few tanks ahead of you. Expect live scaping demonstrations, informal talks on plants, substrate, CO2 and layout theory, and the chance to ask questions face to face rather than through a forum post.

Our sessions are led mainly by guest aquascapers, with the occasional talk from our own in-store team. It's your chance to watch an expert build a layout in real time, hear how they think about plants and design, and ask questions along the way. We currently have two workshops booked in:

Some workshops need a ticket, others are turn up on the day. We'll make clear which is which as soon as each date is confirmed

Getting tickets

For ticketed sessions, tickets go on sale both in-store and on our website closer to the event date. For turn-up sessions, no booking is needed, just come along. The best way to stay in the loop is to check back on this page or follow us on Instagram and Facebook, where we post dates as soon as they're locked in.
