Tropica Bacopa Monnieri Compact Potted Plant

Bacopa monnieri 'Compact' is a smaller-leaved, more compact form of the classic Bacopa monnieri, making it a popular choice for midground planting in planted tanks and aquascapes where the standard variety would grow too large. Its rounded, succulent-like leaves and upright stems create a soft, bushy look that works well in both nature-style and Dutch-style layouts. Supplied as a well-established Tropica pot, it's ready to divide into smaller portions and plant directly into substrate.

Unlike epiphytes such as Anubias or Bucephalandra, Bacopa monnieri 'Compact' is a true stem plant and should be planted in the substrate rather than attached to hardscape. For the best bushy, compact growth, moderate to high lighting is recommended — in lower light, stems tend to stretch and become leggier, with wider spacing between leaves. Regular trimming encourages denser growth and helps prevent the lower stems from thinning out and dropping leaves.

A hardy, adaptable plant that tolerates a range of water conditions, Bacopa monnieri 'Compact' will grow well with or without CO2 injection, though it responds well to added nutrients and CO2 with faster, fuller growth.
