Tropica Cryptocoryne Spiralis 'Red' Potted Aquarium Plant

Cryptocoryne spiralis 'Red' is an elegant background aquarium plant known for its long, flowing leaves and subtle reddish-bronze tones. Supplied in a potted format, this hardy Cryptocoryne variety is well-suited to both beginner and experienced aquarists looking to add height, movement, and natural colour to their aquascape.

This slow to moderate-growing plant thrives in a wide range of conditions and adapts well to most freshwater aquariums. Once established, it produces tall, ribbon-like leaves that create a soft, natural backdrop and provide excellent cover for fish and shrimp.

While good lighting and nutrient-rich substrate will enhance growth and colouration, Cryptocoryne spiralis 'Red' remains relatively undemanding and can grow successfully in low-tech setups.

Care Instructions

• Plant directly into substrate, removing pot and rock wool before planting

• Suitable for low to moderate lighting

• Benefits from nutrient-rich substrate or root tabs

• CO₂ and liquid fertiliser will encourage stronger growth but are not essential

• May experience initial “Crypt melt” when introduced but will recover and regrow

• Trim older leaves to encourage new growth
