Microsorum Pteropus narrow Java Potted Tropica

Microsorum pteropus 'Narrow' is a slender-leaved form of the classic Java Fern, valued for its long, undivided, ribbon-like fronds that give a softer, more delicate look than the standard variety. Like all Java Ferns, it's an extremely hardy, adaptable plant that tolerates a wide range of water conditions, making it a dependable choice for both beginners and experienced aquascapers. Supplied as a well-rooted Tropica pot, it's ready to attach to hardscape and start settling in straight away.

As an epiphyte, Java Fern should never be planted in the substrate: the rhizome needs to stay above the surface, so tie or glue it to driftwood or rock, where roots will slowly take hold over the following weeks. Growth is slow, and the plant does best in low to moderate light; too much intense lighting can encourage algae to build up on its leaves. It's also one of the few plants many algae-eating and herbivorous fish tend to leave alone.
