Echinodorus cordifolus marble queen potted Aquadip

Echinodorus cordifolius 'Marble Queen' is a striking variegated form of the classic Amazon Sword, prized for its broad, wavy-edged leaves splashed with cream and green in an irregular marbled pattern. It's a real statement plant, bringing bold texture and colour contrast to the back of a tank in a way few other swords can match. Supplied as a well-rooted Aquadip pot, it's ready to plant straight away. As with most Echinodorus, this is a heavy root feeder, so a nutrient-rich substrate or the addition of root tabs will make a real difference to its growth and the strength of its variegation. Moderate to high light brings out the cream marbling most vividly; in lower light the leaves tend to stay greener and growth slows further. It's a large plant given the space and conditions to reach its full size, so it's best suited to bigger tanks where it has room to spread. Hardy and easy to keep, it's amphibious by nature and will happily grow emersed as well as fully submerged, sometimes sending new leaves above the waterline in shallower setups. CO2 isn't essential, but it will support fuller, faster growth alongside good root feeding.
