Crinum calamistratum (African Onion Plant) – Potted Aquarium Plant
A striking bulb plant from West Africa, grown for its long, narrow, ribbon-like leaves that curl and crinkle as they grow. In a mature tank the leaves can trail well beyond 60 cm, making it an eye-catching feature plant for the back or side of larger aquariums. Easy to keep and very hardy.
It is slow growing and tolerant of a wide range of water conditions, from soft to hard water, and copes with low to medium light, though it grows best with moderate light. CO2 is not needed. Plant with the top half of the bulb left above the substrate, as burying it completely can lead to rot. Once settled it needs very little attention, and healthy plants will eventually produce offsets from the bulb.
Supplied potted by Aquafleur. Remove from the pot, rinse off the growing media and plant carefully, taking care not to damage the roots.
Format: Potted Crinum calamistratum (Aquafleur), ready to plant.
