Microsorum Pteropus Windelov 1,2 grow Tropica

Microsorum pteropus 'Windelov', better known as Windelov (or Windeløv) Java Fern, is a striking variation on the aquarium classic. Where standard Java Fern has simple strap-like leaves, this cultivar's fronds divide repeatedly at the tips into fine, feathery forks, giving each leaf a delicate, lace-like edge. Grown from tissue culture, this Tropica 1-2-Grow! pot arrives free from algae, snails and pests, so it's ready to attach and grow with none of the usual quarantine faff. Like all Java Ferns, this is an epiphyte rather than a substrate plant: the rhizome (the thick horizontal stem the fronds grow from) should never be buried in the substrate, as this can cause it to rot. Instead, tie or glue it to a piece of driftwood or rock, where it will slowly root itself in place over the following weeks. It's a slow grower and undemanding with it, coping happily in low light with no CO2, though it will also tolerate brighter, CO2-enriched setups as long as the water stays clean. Left to mature, established fronds occasionally produce small plantlets along their edges, offering an easy way to propagate more plants for free. Hardy, low-maintenance and visually distinctive, it's a great choice for driftwood and rockwork in almost any freshwater setup.
