Phyllanthus fluitans (Red Root Floater) – Invitro Aquarium Plant
Phyllanthus fluitans, commonly known as Red Root Floater, is an easy floating plant with small, heart-shaped, water-repellent leaves and distinctive reddish roots that trail down into the water. It thrives without CO2 under low to medium light and adapts well to a wide range of water conditions, making it a great choice for low-tech and shrimp tanks alike. The more intense the light, the more the leaves take on a reddish-brown colour.
This fast-growing floater needs occasional thinning to stop it covering the whole water surface, and its trailing roots give shrimp and small fish plenty of cover while helping to absorb excess nutrients from the water column.
