JBL ProScape Volcano Mineral – 3 Litre
A volcanic rock base layer for aquascaping and planted aquariums, made to go under your main soil or substrate. The rock is porous, which lets water circulate through the bottom layer and brings oxygen and organic nutrients to the plant roots. It also forms a stable base for stone and wood hardscape, which would otherwise slide down through the substrate.
The open, perforated structure gives beneficial microorganisms a large surface to settle on, including nitrifying bacteria, which helps a new tank settle into a stable biological balance. The rock is rich in minerals such as calcium, magnesium and potassium, plus trace elements including iron, boron and manganese, so it releases nutrients slowly over the long term. For freshwater aquariums.
Use a first layer of about 2 to 4 cm, depending on the substrate height. Add more for design purposes, such as sloping the back of the tank. Then cover it with your chosen substrate, such as an aquarium soil. When filling the tank with water, pour slowly onto a plate or bag so you don't stir up the substrate. Do not use it together with JBL Sansibar.
