Shark Sand Pro – Woodland 2kg

A fine coloured sand for aquariums and aquascapes, in a natural, earthy woodland tone. The grain is fine, roughly 0.7 to 1.2 mm, which gives a smooth, even finish that suits planted tanks, nano tanks and fish that like to sift through the substrate, such as corydoras. The rounded quartz grains are gentle on bottom-dwelling fish.

The sand is a coloured quartz, so it is hard and heavy and stays in place rather than floating up. Its warm tone blends well with wood, rock and green plants.

Rinse the sand well in a bucket before adding it to the tank, until the water runs clear. This is a good idea with any new sand and keeps the water from clouding. As a guide, a 2 kg bag covers a small area at a shallow depth, so check how much you need for your tank. You can use our substrate calculator to work out how much you need.
