Seachem Aquavitro Aquasolum – 2kg
A lightweight, porous substrate made from humic substances and minerals, for planted aquariums and shrimp nano tanks. It contains humates, which can help plants take up micronutrients, and it lowers the pH of alkaline water, which suits plants and freshwater shrimp that prefer softer, slightly acidic conditions. This is a soil that will change your water chemistry, so test your water when you first use it.
Aquasolum is made from leonardite, rhyolite, biotite, quartz, feldspar, obsidian and amphibole, with 1.12% humic acid from leonardite.
Each 2 kg bag fills about 1,630 cm³ (100 cubic inches). To work out how many bags you need, multiply the tank's width by length by the depth of substrate you want. You can also use our substrate calculator.
It is pre-washed, but it can become dusty in transit, so rinse it before use. When filling the tank, place a bowl on the substrate and pour water into it so the water overflows gently onto the bed without disturbing it. A little initial cloudiness is normal and clears with mechanical filtration such as filter floss. Seachem Clarity can speed this up.
