Pogostemon helferi – Invitro Aquarium Plant
Pogostemon helferi, also known as Downoi or Little Star, is a distinctive foreground plant recognised by its crinkled, star-shaped leaves and tight, low-growing rosettes. It adds a wilder, more textured look to the foreground than typical carpeting plants, working especially well tucked around stones in Iwagumi-style layouts or as a transition between carpet and midground planting. Supplied in a 100% sterile invitro pot by Tropica, this plant is free from algae, pests, and snails, making it a safe choice for shrimp and delicate aquariums.
For the tightest, most compact growth, medium to high lighting with CO2 injection is recommended; without it, the rosettes tend to stretch and become looser. It can be prone to a short melting phase shortly after planting or when conditions change, but it typically recovers and pushes out fresh growth once settled.
