The Strideways Bubble Counter lets you see and set the rate of CO2 going into your planted aquarium. It screws directly onto the needle valve of your Strideways CO2 regulator, with the CO2 tubing attached to the opposite end.
It has an in-built check valve that stops aquarium water siphoning back into the solenoid or regulator. Once water gets into those parts it is hard to remove and can cause a complete blockage or inconsistent output, so this protection is well worth having.
To set up, unscrew the top cap and fill the counter about three-quarters full with water, then screw the cap back on firmly. Check the O-ring is sitting at the bottom of the threads in the well at the base, then screw the counter onto the needle valve. Unscrew the compression collar from the top, feed the tubing through it and tighten the collar to hold the tubing in place.
The bubble counter must be vertical so the bubbles can float upward. Make sure your regulator and needle valve will allow this when fitted to your cylinder.
