SF biotope set Shrimp - Natural Botanicals

The SF Biotope Set for Shrimp is a mixed pack of natural botanicals chosen for freshwater shrimp tanks. It contains catappa leaves, longan leaves, dried acorn caps and bell cups, which look natural scattered across the substrate and give shrimp somewhere to graze and shelter.

As the botanicals slowly break down, they release tannins and humic substances that lightly tint the water and help recreate the soft, natural conditions shrimp live in in the wild. The surfaces also develop a fine biofilm that shrimp and fry graze on throughout the day.

Before adding to your aquarium, rinse well. Soaking or boiling the pieces for a few minutes helps them sink and releases excess tannins.

As a natural product, size and appearance may vary. Adding botanicals to your aquarium can affect water parameters and release tannins into the water, so we recommend regular water testing when using botanicals.
