BioCliff has a porosity of 85% and a surface area of 1250 m²/l. Its structure is designed to create both aerobic and anaerobic zones, enabling the breakdown of nitrite and nitrate. This all-natural, silicate rock is pH-neutral and does not affect water hardness or pH. BioCliff ensures clear water quality. It has an exceptionally large filter surface area for the colonization of beneficial bacteria. The varying surface area of the material increases the water's residence time in the filter, giving the bacteria more time to break down the waste products.
