Glossostigma elatinoides – Potted Aquarium Plant

Glossostigma elatinoides, often shortened to "Glosso", is one of the most popular true carpeting plants in the hobby, forming a dense, low-growing mat of tiny bright green leaves across the substrate. It spreads via lateral runners, creeping along the foreground rather than growing upward, making it a favourite for open, lawn-style aquascapes.

Glosso is a demanding plant that needs strong light and CO2 injection to carpet properly; without CO2 it tends to grow upward rather than spreading flat. It does best in soft, slightly acidic to neutral water (pH 5.0-7.5) at 22-26°C, and benefits from regular trimming every few weeks to keep the mat thick and prevent the lower leaves from being shaded out.

Supplied potted and ready to divide into small clumps for planting, this is a great way to establish Glosso across your foreground without the mess of an invitro cup.
