Echinodorus Rose Potted Aqua Fleur

Echinodorus 'Rosé' – Potted Aqua Fleur

A popular rosette sword plant with soft pink new leaves and red-brown spots, and a lovely centrepiece for the midground or background. Echinodorus 'Rosé' is a cultivar, a hybrid between Echinodorus horemanii 'Red' and Echinodorus horizontalis, first produced in 1986.

It grows to around 25 to 40 cm tall, with a rosette 15 to 25 cm wide, so it suits medium and larger tanks. Growth is medium, and it is an undemanding plant that is a good choice for beginners. A nutrient-rich substrate will help it along, and root tabs are a useful addition.

Before planting, remove the plant from its pot and gently rinse away any growing medium. Trim any damaged or very long roots, and plant it so the crown sits just above the substrate. You can often split potted plants into two or three smaller plants to spread around your aquascape.

Format: Aqua Fleur potted Echinodorus 'Rosé', one plant.
