Echinodorus Harbich Potted Aquarium Plant - A Stunning Rosette for Midground & Background

Echinodorus Harbich is a beautiful, compact sword plant that brings a vibrant green to reddish hue to planted aquariums. Known for its rounded, broad leaves, this plant is perfect for midground or background placement, adding a lush, natural look to aquascapes. Unlike larger Echinodorus species, Harbich stays moderately sized, making it suitable for smaller tanks and aquascapes that require a structured, yet not overwhelming, feature plant. The potted version ensures strong root development, allowing for a healthy start in your aquarium.

Prepping for Aquarium Placement:

  • Before placing potted aquarium plants into your tank, it's crucial to remove them from their pots and thoroughly rinse off the soil or substrate they may be potted in. Gently shake or rinse the roots to remove excess debris without damaging them. Trim any damaged or overly long roots to encourage healthy growth. If the plant is held together by a foam or mesh material, be sure to remove it carefully to prevent it from decomposing in the aquarium.
  • When planting in the main aquarium, consider the specific needs of each plant species regarding light, substrate, and water conditions. Secure the plants in the substrate or attach them to decorations using aquarium-safe methods like plant weights or tie them to rocks or driftwood. Monitor the plants closely after planting to ensure they adapt well to their new surroundings.
  • You can often split potted plants into 2 or 3 individual plants to spread around your aquascape.

Why Choose Echinodorus Harbich for Your Aquarium?

Echinodorus Harbich is a great choice for aquarists looking for a mid-sized sword plant that offers a structured, natural aesthetic without overtaking the tank. Its rounded leaves and hardy nature make it beginner-friendly, while its adaptability allows for use in a variety of aquascaping styles. The potted version ensures a healthy, easy transition into your aquarium, providing immediate impact and beauty.
