Biotope Set Amazon Botanical Pack

Recreate the look and feel of a South American Amazon biotope with this curated mix of natural botanicals. Featuring a selection of leaves, seed pods, and other authentic materials sourced from Amazonian habitats, this pack adds realistic texture, colour, and cover to biotope-style aquascapes, shrimp tanks, and soft-water community setups.

As the botanicals slowly break down, they release beneficial tannins that soften and tint the water, recreating the blackwater conditions many Amazonian fish and shrimp thrive in naturally. They also develop a fine biofilm over time, providing a valuable grazing surface for shrimp and fry.

As with all natural botanicals, they can tint the water to a tea-coloured, blackwater tone as tannins are released — this is completely natural and won't harm your fish, though some may prefer a clearer tank and choose to use activated carbon to reduce it. It's also worth keeping an eye on water quality as botanicals break down, since decomposition can raise ammonia levels; this is rarely an issue in an established, mature tank, but is worth watching more closely in a new set-up.

As a 100% natural product, contents will vary slightly in size, shape, and composition from pack to pack.
