Palm Ring Double - Natural Botanical

Palm Ring Double is a pair of curled, ring-shaped natural botanicals joined together, made from the Doub palm (Borassus flabellifer), a fan palm native to South Asia. The textured, curling shape looks a little like a ramshorn shell, and it adds natural interest to shrimp tanks, nano aquariums and blackwater or biotope setups.

It gives fish and shrimp a natural hiding space, and the textured surface grows biofilm that shrimp love to graze on. It also releases tannins, which can lightly tint the water. The rings are flexible and may uncurl a little once submerged. It is a fairly long-lasting botanical, and it breaks down slowly over a few months.

Before adding to your aquarium, rinse well and boil for several minutes so that it sinks rather than floats, and to release any excess tannins.

As a natural product, size and appearance may vary. Adding botanicals to your aquarium can affect water parameters and release tannins into the water, so we recommend regular water testing when using botanicals.

Format: Palm Ring Double, one piece made of two joined natural palm rings.
