Anubias barteri var. nana is a small, hardy and very popular plant that thrives in almost any aquarium, including shady corners where other plants struggle. It comes from Cameroon and reaches about 5 to 10 cm tall, with a creeping rhizome 10 to 15 cm long or more. It is easy to keep and suits beginners.
Growth is slow, so it rewards patience rather than fast results. Low to moderate light suits it best, and it doesn't need CO2. If the light is too strong, algae can settle on the long-lasting leaves.
Anubias does best attached to a stone or a piece of wood rather than planted in the substrate. Tie it on with fishing line or thread until it grips, or glue it in place. If you do plant it, never bury the rhizome, as it can rot.
Planting from the pot: take the plant out of its pot and rinse the roots gently before attaching it to hardscape or planting it.
Format: Aquafleur potted Anubias barteri var. nana, one plant.
