They are a natural botanical for shrimp tanks, nano aquariums and blackwater or biotope setups, and they give shrimp, fry, snails and small fish a place to shelter.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe fibrous, textured surface is a good growth medium for biofilm and diatoms, which shrimp and snails graze on throughout the day. As the pods slowly break down they may release a little tannin and lightly tint the water.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe pods are very buoyant and trap air when dry, so they float at first. Before adding to your aquarium, rinse well, then boil for around an hour to waterlog them. Leaving them to soak in cold water overnight afterwards helps them sink, and you can weight them down until they do.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSea mango is a poisonous plant. These pods are for aquarium use only, and are not for eating.
